To top off Friendship Week, during lunch on Friday March 12,2010, ‘Iolani students were treated to a concert by Just For Funk, a band made up of both students and faculty. The band included students Garrett Bodley ’10, Daniel Barr ‘10, Anders Lee ‘10, David Lim ‘11, Jana Souza ‘11, and Tue Vaea ’11. The concert featured music from the funk and hip-hop bands Sylk 130 and Jurassic 5. Jana Souza and Tue Vaea sang a great rendition “What Y’all Came to Do,” a duet by Aretha Franklin and John Legend. Faculty members included math teacher Mr. Michael Park and English teacher Mr. Peter Greenhill. One of the goals of the concert was to raise awareness about the plastic bag recycling drive being organized by the Student Peace Institute and Youth Network clubs at ‘Iolani.
